In the animal kingdom, we humans are story spinners. It is our defining characteristic: the ability to create and believe fiction! It enables us to organize at scale, to take over lands, to grow big on this planet. Believing our stories has been part of our evolution, and it played a key role in our surviving and thriving as a species. No wonder we hold on to our stories, from personal to cultural, so tightly.
